Traditional media is too slow

The global music giant Sony BMG yesterday announced plans to recall millions of CD’s by at least 20 artists - from the crooners Celine Dion and Neil Diamond to the country-rock act Van Zant - because they contain copy restriction software that poses risks to the computers of consumers.

Way to take notice, NYT. It’s no wonder newspaper subscriptions are falling. Whether or not the journalists are actually aware of current events, it takes them far too long to get the word out - even online. I don’t mind when a printed rag is 23 hours out of date, but there’s no excuse when the web site is too.
