Yeah - so I have no idea what it says, but its a neat flash thing that has various substances falling from the sky… you can draw walls and spouts and things to interact with those substances falling and… just go play with it. Very neat.

If you have OmniGraffle, you can download and run the AppleScript. It’ll trawl through your iTunes library, map out all the artists, hi-light the most popular, and connect it all so you can arrange it as you will. I’d say that qualifies as suitably neat yet pointless…
This looks so cool. I haven’t tried it yet, but I love the idea.

I tend to hate cute. Anyone who knows me knows that while I am generally a sarcastic bitch, I really do hate cute, and would (mentally) rather punch the photographer of YA-cute kitten then admit how fucking cute it is. I don’t even have any categories for my blog set up to handle this sort of fluffery.
but. But. BUT.
This site is starting to amuse me. It really is cute done many magnitudes more grand than ever done before. It’s a parody of cute that somehow remains cute.
Thank Spaghetti Monster for the internets.

Here are ten political wishes that you can grant and make my Christmas….
1. Wake up, America. Democracy isn’t a spectator sport. Eternal vigilance isn’t a video game. Everything you really care about is slipping away. It’s not just about you. It’s about your family and friends – everyone you love. Wake up, America, the bad guys are winning. (Read the whole article)
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Large demonstrations broke out across the country Friday to denounce parliamentary elections that protesters say were rigged in favor of the main religious Shiite coalition. Also, the U.S. military said two soldiers were killed when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad on Friday. (Read the whole story)
What’s not clear to me is why the United States Government is allowing this nonsense to continue. The only reason we have ever been in Iraq is to promote Democracy. The United States is certainly a shining example of Democracy in action, so why not take a page from our own history book: When an election has obviously been rigged (or when the people who are being allowed to think they are electing someone think it’s been rigged), allow the Supreme Court to decide.
Duh.

That changed Wednesday, when Britain’s new civil partnership law took effect in England, allowing gay couples to legalize their relationships.
“This year, we’re not going to buy any of the products for Christmas,” Wiesner says bluntly.
And some are taking it a step further. The Pro-Life Action League is calling for a boycott of the dolls. Some Catholic schools have cancelled American Girl events.
“They take a position that I am 100 percent against which would be in telling girls abortion is a solution for them,” Wiesner says. (Read the whole story…)
Right… that’s just what they’re saying. Let’s take the hyperbole a bit further and say that because its a toy company, and they support a woman’s right to choose, that what they’re really saying is that ABORTIONS ARE FUN AND ALL GIRLS AGES 6-11 SHOULD GET ONE FOR CHRISTMAS.
I want a Tina the Wanton Slut doll this year, with an I HEART ABORTIONS babydoll tee. In powder blue.
Sphere: Related ContentSome politically influential backers of intelligent design warned that U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III, who was appointed by President Bush, so overreached that his ruling would outrage and inflame millions of conservative and religiously observant Americans.
“This decision is a poster child for a half-century secularist reign of terror that’s coming to a rapid end with Justice Roberts and soon-to-be Justice Alito,” said Richard Land, who is president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and is a political ally of White House adviser Karl Rove. “This was an extremely injudicious judge who went way, way beyond his boundaries — if he had any eyes on advancing up the judicial ladder, he just sawed off the bottom rung.” (Read full article…)
“Princess Amidala: You assume too much.” (From Star Wars)
It’s almost funny how deluded the truly neo-con fundementalist christians are when it comes to their followers. I imagine that *they* imagine some vast multi-million field of villagers behind them, rallying to their war cries with pitch forks in hand.
I have no problem with people who believe almost anything… I have a huge problem with pricks like this Richard Land who presume to speak for millions of more or less cool, normal people.
I also have a big problem with our spineless congress who hear the threat of this mass of pitchforked villagers and are stupid enough to believe that they a) exist and b) will vote them out of office.

“The President and I believe very deeply that there is a hell of a threat,” Mr Cheney said, calculating that “the vast majority” of Americans support the Administration’s surveillance policies. “And so if there’s a backlash pending, I think the backlash is going to be against those who are suggesting somehow we shouldn’t take these steps in order to defend the country.”
Gosh, Mr. Vice President. I guess I’ll just trust y’all, since you’ve proven to be completely trustworthy with the powers of presidential office *and* civilian business ventures.
Nothing to see here folks… move along, move along.
Sphere: Related ContentI am trying to buy a book from Amazon. It’s obviously pretty busy out there tonight, with all the last minute Christmas shopping, and their image server is down. No big deal, right? A well built web page - especially for a popular e-commerce site - will obviously expose a prominent way to add a product to my cart via a text link, right?
no. not so much.
