Gay marriage ban is short of votes…

Looks like the GOPs attempt to codify hatred and bigotry into the constitution has failed again. I feel no joy at this. I’m sad and angry. Living in San Francisco is a bit irritating in the respect that it’s pointless to maker any sort of protest (except give money, which I do).

Talking to the southern branch of my family seems to fall on deaf ears, as though the overall philosophy of their elected representatives averages out to Just Fine as long as you ignore one or two little factoids about them wanting to treat me like a second class citizen.

One of the southern brethren attended the GOP delegate conference in San Antonio last week. I suppose I should just ignore that too. It’s not like they hate *me*. They just hate the supergroup to which I belong. Love the sinner, hate the sin, right? I’m a worthwhile person, I just don’t deserve to stand as an equal with the normal folks. I refer you to my learnings from Thanksgiving for more on that topic.
