I love my sean kitteh to pieces, but I have a psychological (and financial) barrier to putting a huge amount of money into a cat that 10 years of vets have assured me “will definitely be dead within 6 weeks from a heart condition.”
Then last night he started panting and grunting and it broke *my* fucking heart. So I took him to the emergency vet.
They put him on oxygen, evaluated him, and came out with the treatment estimate. Now, I had been prepping myself for the bill, and was worried it would be as much as $500 bucks, which is half of my absolute limit of spending more than $1000 for any one treatment for a cat. they went ahead and shocked that right out of my system by informing me I must put down a payment of $1200 to begin treatment for congestive heart failure. Ok what the hell I have nothing better to do.
He spent the night at the vet for more treatment (at those prices, presumably watching naked hot wet kitty porn, eating fresh salmon, and listening to soothing music on a bed of 1000 threadcount sheets that match his fur perfectly—so far he has remained inscrutable on the subject).
I went to pick him up this afternoon. Xrays, and ultrasounds, and lasiks, and more oxygen, and EKGs and yadda yadda two pages of “look how hard we worked on your dumb cat.”
The 2nd bill was another $1000. What the hell. I have nothing better to do.
Tonight he’s mostly returned to baseline. I’ll strangle him if he dies on me now.

And you do what you do because when you consider…. 3000.00 even 5000.00 is a small price to pay for unconditional love and trust.

My other friend just had to put her baby down over the holidays and as you know, it is like plunging a knife into your own chest.

my brother hated my cat tiger. And so one day my cat snuck in the bathroom with my brother and he was being cerious about what ws in the tolet boil. So my brother ws tring to take a pise and he purpossly pised on my cats head it was so mean so i washed my cat of with these cat bath towles he liked those towles alot. But know he misses my cat very much i lossed him in november he ran away and never came back and know he feels sorry that he ever pised on my cat tiger.
