San Diego Federal Prosecutor Fired To Stop Investigation Into State GOP

Senate Democrats signaled Sunday that of the eight federal prosecutors abruptly ousted by the Bush administration, the case in San Diego is emerging as the most troubling because of new allegations that U.S. Atty. Carol C. Lam was fired in an attempt to shut down investigations into Republican politicians in Southern California.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) revealed evidence that Lam had notified Washington about search warrants in a Republican corruption case last year. Soon thereafter, a top Justice Department official in Washington wrote to the White House about a “real problem we have right now with Carol Lam.” (via The Huffington Post)

I am going to put Dick on a loop until this is over. Sometime in 2012.

And now it appears that Bush will forbid several top aides to testify in the congressional hearings regarding the matter, claiming *executive privilege*. (Oh, big surprise there!) DUH-UH! And, undoubtedly, when the administration is asked to turn over tapes and documents, there will be an erasing-and-shredding frenzy only approached by Watergate - but exponentially worse and far more damaging.

(Take heart! This could be a Martha Stewart Moment, People: Its a GOOD thing!)

Get ready to throw the bums out - ALL OF THEM!

    YAY!
