I got a ping from schmap.com a few days ago asking if they could include one of my photos in their travel guides. I said sure why not.
The picture they wanted to use was one taken in Lyon France dangling off the side of Fourviére. It’s a decent shot of the side of the building and a beautiful overview of Lyon. I started my three week trip to Europe in Lyon.
The picture can be seen in context here, and here is the Lyon travel guide.
Last week NPR did a show called Photography and it’s future (link to the generic archive page which has detail, but no audio link for some reason). The show focused on how professional photogs have to adapt to a world where 1) better and better technology is affording almost anyone to capture 2) timely and 3) compelling content. This throws things like stock photography on its ear. I’m contributing to that a bit I suppose.
