NPR played a few minutes from a 2000 interview with Paul Tibbets last night. When the interviewer brought the question around to whether or not he felt any moral pangs, he said something along the lines of “No. We did what we had to do. It’s not a question of morals. War is not moral.” A stark contrast to the holy righteous quest we’re in now.
