The frontpage was smattered with similarly irrelevant-to-the-public stories, and for the forthcoming days, continued to be. I'd always kind of thought this... tho coming home from an extended stay in Holland where people are... just... HAPPY, don't work all the time, don't argue on their cellphones while walking down the street, "bling" fashion doesn't seem to exist, children seem content and well-behaved, and everybody rides fabulous public transit and bicycles... so the rectal diamond industry exists not, too... yeah. Big, freaky reality check. The really sad part: I totally thought I'd lose interest in the Daily Dish- to the contrary. It's now some of the only American news, I can take seriously... perhaps because it's just about the only news in the SFGate that doesn't try to be something it's not!
