Frontgate grill is cute

Frontgate-1Has anyone ever bought something from Frontgate before? (”Outfitting America’s Finest Homes”). I haven’t, and some of their stuff looks cute and innovative. I get the feeling it’s cute and innovative in the same way as Sharper Image: Looks awesome in the catalog, turns out to be made of hollow metallic finished ABS plastic and breaks after five uses.

I’ve seen their catalogs many times, and I think they’re seriously overpriced, just like Sharper Image or any number of other such retailers. I once priced a market-stand umbrella for my deck at Smith & Hawken ($400), and asked about warrantee: none. I bought one at Cost Plus ($60) instead.

I believe that Consumer Reports has done comparisons on BBQ grills, and they’d be the place to look for data on construction, durability, etc.

I’m with Eric, Erik. Check it out in person! Try Patio World - its up my way, anyway. (And you can help hook up my TiVo - AND we can eat @ “Sushi Todai For”!) :-)
