Huckabee’s run on sentence

“what we need to do is amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards” (embedded somewhere in the run on sentence).

Oh yeah…

Happy new year. :)

Holiday cynicism

Tis the season.

No, not Christmas, but politics, terror, and the war on everything. What fabulous surprises does Kris Kringlebush have in store for America’s collective hearth stockings in his last holiday season?

  • Proof from Ann Coulter that Democrats really are stupid yet diabolically evil traitors (Hillary has been having islamist lesbian botox abortion sex parties within spitting distance of a Gymboree!!^&#$)?
  • A fancy update to that tired security advisory system (Threat level: Rudolph Red)?
  • The “discovery” of a terrorist plot to harm the blond and blue eyed goodness of the heartland (Al Qaida queenpin codename “Mrs. Klaws” caught anthraxing our chirrun’s snickerdoodles)?
  • America’s most wanted criminal captured (George and Bandar, doing a bit of last minute Christmas shopping, smoked bin Laden out of his hole and got those nice folks at Macy’s to wrap him up in a shiny bow)?
  • News that the “surge” is working (Last month had more suicide bombings in about 4 years, so let’s surge some more, this time with feeling!!1one!1)?

Oh, I shiver in anticipation.

I hate television news so very very much

cnn poll. very classy.I’m watching KTVU news this morning for no reason whatsoever. Every once in awhile I turn it on to see how long I can stand to have my news chewed up, editorialized, injected with extra fear and/or religion, and regurgitated back to me. I think my current record is about 2 minutes.
The pertinent facts of the current story is this: A woman in Oakland was hit and killed by a car overnight, which did not stick around the scene of the accident or call it in or anything.

Not interesting enough for morning news apparently. Frank Somerville and the (allegedly) dickhead writers of KTVU chose to add this unnecessary bit of fluff: “at Grand avenue and Lennox, which is [tense and knowing emphasis] very close [/] to Children’s Fairyland.”

Because it could have been YOUR CHILD who was viciously run down. In the middle of the night. At 1:15am. Going to Fairyland. As they tend to do at 1:15am.

The fact that a woman was killed isn’t funny, but that the TV news is sensationalizing it is. In a terrifying way.

A few days ago I heard an interview with Mike Gravel on NPR. He noted that the American public has been kept in a state of continuous fear by our government since the beginning of the Cold War, and that the mainstream DNC candidates are not likely to change the status quo.

Biden BING Biden BOOM

Nice one liner. Is Rodney Dangerfield writing his speeches?

Rudy Giuliani… I mean, think about it! Rudy Giuliani. There’s only three things he mentions in a sentence — a noun, a verb, and 9/11. (Read More)

Chuck Norris Endorses Huckabee, becomes even more irrelevant

Not that I am exactly a Chuck Norris fan, but if true, he’s super duper not on my netflix queue. Endorsing Huckabee is like endorsing David Duke.

chuckwussIn a power play that dramatically alters the Republican presidential playing field, actor/ninja Chuck Norris, most famous for his role as a karate mentor in the delightful Sidekicks, has endorsed Mike Huckabee for president. (*Much fanfare!*) The seismic announcement came in a WorldNetDaily exclusive commentary in which he lowers the boom early on: “I won’t leave you in suspense…. I believe the only one who has all of the characteristics to lead America forward into the future is ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.” After the jump: How Chuck Norris determined that Mike Huckabee isn’t a tutu-wearing Mexican pussy. (Read More)

Ding dong the witch is dead… Brownback withdrawing from presidential bid

Another assclown drops out…

Brownback, the distinguished douchebag from Kansas, and another graduate of the school of “let’s get intimately familiar with hot man on man sex and other consensual and adult topics that are none of our business, because we’re insanely repressed, and we’ll get away with it by pretending to Save The Children” is not only dropping his presidential bid, but is also leaving the senate to run for Governor of Kansas.

I’m sensing a pattern here… Should we start a pool on when Inofe (R-OK) announces a similar trick, so he, Brownback, and Hutchison can have a hot, geographically stacked menage-a-trois of gay porn, hate fucking, and protecting the families of our great white christian heartland?

WASHINGTON — Republican Sam Brownback will drop out of the 2008 presidential campaign on Friday, people close to the Kansas senator said Thursday.

Brownback, a longshot conservative contender, had trouble raising money to compete in the race. He is expected announce his withdrawal in Topeka, Kan.

He raised a little more than $800,000 in the third quarter of this year, his lowest quarterly amount since entering race. He has brought in more than $4 million overall and is eligible for $2 million in federal matching funds.

“I know Senator Brownback enjoyed campaigning and meeting new people in talking about ideas for the future of America, but I think it came down to money,” said one person close to Brownback, who requested anonymity because the candidate had not yet announced his plans.

Brownback, who is in his second term, had said in his first Senate campaign he would serve no more than two terms in Senate. He is widely expected to seek the Kansas governor’s office in 2010. (Read More)

Ding dong the witch is dead… Kay Bailey Hutchison leaving the Senate

Hurray that this evil asshole is finally quitting the Senate. And whatevs that she is considering a run for Governor. If she wins, she’ll sully the seat that Ann Richards ass once graced, but she can’t do worse than the shrub.

200710171100Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison will not seek re-election after her current Senate term and may leave before her term ends in 2012 to run for Texas governor, a spokesman for the senator says.

Hutchison said she has not yet made a decision as to whether to run for the governorship. (Read More)

Hillary Clinton pushes hard to lock up Asian support for 2008

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton — appearing today at an event to tout her support among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders — has signaled the start of an unusually early and aggressive competition for ethnic voters who will wield increasing clout in 2008.

[snip]

Clinton’s strategy dramatizes how “in the Democratic primary, the ethnic vote is going to be very important, particularly in a close race,” said pollster Mark Baldassare, director of the Public Policy Institute of California.

Hillary is good with the ideas, but scary with the execution. She’s obviously wise to court the Asian vote, but given her ridiculous “[The House of Representatives] has been run like a plantation, and you know what I’m talking about” quote (and rehearsed body language) at her 2007 MLK speech, I boggle at what she’ll come up with at her other ethnically targeted speeches.
